He founded Sybyl Ltd (Formerly Computer Point Ltd) in 1991. It is the predominating IT Company in Uganda, and is the only IT Company specializing in Disaster Recovery technologies. It has implemented most of the Disaster Recovery solutions in Uganda including those of MTN, CelTel, World Food Program, Electoral Commission etc
Branches of Sybyl Ltd were opened in Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, and the UAE. Since the year 2000, Mr Kuruvilla has been the active Chairman of the Sybyl Ltd Group of companies.
He was also among the first members of the Uganda Insurance Commission that modernised the criteria of insurance practice in Uganda. He was an integral part of the history of Ugandan insurance and was referred to as the benevolent “Godfather” of the industry before his retirement in 2000. Our patriarch rested on 20th March, 2021
