Post Bank was running their Core Banking application that utilized an Old NetApp FAS2020 system for data resources. The NetApp FAS2020 system was End of Life and the capacity utilization was way above the threshold level. Due to Space crunch, the Core Banking application was having performance issues. Post Bank faced problems with managing the Intel based Workloads as well.
Post Bank didn’t have a proper Backup mechanism for the critical data and didn’t have a Business continuity approach for the applications other than the Core Banking Application.
Sybyl formulated a solution which involved replacing the old NetApp Storage system with a scalable EMC Unity storage for the Core Banking Application running on AIX.
All the Intel workloads were migrated to the new scalable EMC VxRail Hyper Converged System thereby enhancing the resource utilization and saving on investment on Storage Resources and better management for the Intel Workloads.
Sybyl implemented NetBackup Backup solution for their Critical applications which involved Disk to Tape backup approach thereby consolidating their backup challenge and enabling Post Bank to have multiple backup copies.
The Intel Workloads running on VMware were replicated to the Secondary site using vSphere Replication and the Core Banking Application data is being replicated to the Secondary site using the RecoverPoint Appliance.
With Dell EMC VxRail Hyper Converged System at the heart of the solution, Post Bank saved significantly on their CAPEX and OPEX.
With Scalable EMC Unity storage, Post Bank’s Critical Core Banking application needs for Storage Resources were very well managed.
With NetBackup, vSphere Replication and RecoverPoint Appliance, Post Bank can sustain Data loss and site failure as they have multiple Backup copies as well a secondary site that will help them function without any problems.
