Role Overview.

We are seeking a seasoned Account Manager to drive growth in the SACCO sector in Uganda. The role is focused on managing existing SACCO customer accounts, deepening relationships, and developing new business opportunities by positioning SYBYL’s IT products and services as enablers of operational efficiency, compliance, and member-centered innovation. You will own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and solution positioning to contract closure and payment collection—while serving as the primary link between SACCO clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow existing SACCO customer accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.

  • Identify and develop additional business opportunities within current SACCO clients.

  • Prospect, qualify, and acquire new SACCO accounts in line with the company’s growth strategy.

  • Own and manage the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, solution presentations, proposal development, negotiations, and payment follow-up.

  • Work towards defined quarterly and annual sales targets, providing regular pipeline and performance reports.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within SACCOs.

  • Collaborate with pre-sales, technical, delivery, and finance teams to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded.

  • Understand client business challenges and align SYBYL’s value proposition to address their objectives and pain points.

  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, activities, and customer interactions in the CRM or designated systems.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT products and services sales, specifically in the SACCO or financial services space.

  • Minimum 5+ years of account management experience with a proven track record of managing and growing key accounts.

  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B / enterprise environment.

  • Experience working with SACCOs in Uganda; wider East Africa experience is an added advantage.

  • Strong understanding of SACCO operations, regulatory environment, and technology needs.

  • Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to build compelling business cases for clients.

  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable working with minimal supervision.

Candidate Profile

 

  • IT / Business-related degree.

  • Proven track record in both sales and account management in the SACCO or financial services sector.

  • Comfortable engaging at executive and operational levels within client organizations.

  • Collaborative team player who can work closely with internal departments to deliver on customer commitments.
